Famous for its name, there are many of these unusual trees in the park. Joshua Tree is located between the Colorado and Mojave deserts. Visit in spring when temperatures are cooler and Joshua trees are in full bloom. Driving is the easiest way to get to Joshua Tree, especially during the summer months when air conditioning is essential. The main activity at Joshua Tree is mountain climbing, with massive boulders and dome-like rocks forming one of the 8,000 climbing routes.. To explore the Hidden Valley Trail on foot, this one-mile loop is a lovely little scenic walk full of huge rocks. The Key Views Trail is a must-see with stunning views of the mountains, the Coachella Valley and the Salton Sea. When you're in the desert, look for an oasis - there are five in the park
